Fun times

I had to share this picture. Last week I had given so many baths I had lost count due to the stomach virus. Shep was feeling better and playing in his room. I was unloading the dishwasher and here comes Shep showing me what he had done. He had found the desitin and put it all over his face, hands, legs and HAIR! It was matted in his hair. I had already given Spence and Sophie a bath earlier...so what's ONE more?!?!? All before 9:00 a.m.?! In the bath he went, I washed his hair 15 times and it still wouldn't come out. IT was nasty! Guess the Maximum strength Desitin really does coat! I am hoping this next week is a lot more UNeventful!

 By Thursday everyone was feeling better and we got out of the house! We love chick-fil-a and especially love free meals! We had lots of fun dressing up like cows this past Friday to get our free meal!

Sophie was VERY scared of the cow! Poor thing! What a fun outing with my sweet little family!

The boys love their new toddler beds. Before naps each day, I let them choose some books to read quietly by themselves before I read a few to them. The boys love trucks and I have been reading this book to them since they were babies. Shep has an amazing memory. He can remember things we do from a year ago or more. Here he is "reading" his favorite book. You may not be able to understand all of it, but he gets it almost perfect. Near the end, he realizes he missed a page and goes back. I am one proud mama!

Where did June go?

So very upset that I didn't update in June..we were just so busy! Between traveling, VBS, and more traveling I didn't have time to update. July started with a bang with us all getting the stomach virus. We are still having some leftover effects from it and am hoping today is the day we are ALL better!

Quick update on kiddos...

Blowing kisses

This past month Sophie is crawling A LOT faster. She can push herself onto her feet but hasn't stood up yet. She has 3 teeth. She is blowing kisses all the time. She has recently started cruising on the furniture. I can't believe my baby will be one next month. She is my sweet angel!

The boys had their 1/2 birthday yesterday and are now 2 1/2. Shep and Spence started crawling out of their pack n plays while we were out of town, and when we got home Shep crawled out of his baby bed.

Guess it was time to convert to toddler beds. This was very hard on me! I love every stage that we are in, but I want to hold on to my babies forever!

Shep is talking nonstop and has reached the stage of doing EVERYTHING on his own! He is very independent. He is a great helper and helps me a lot with Sophie!

Spence sings nonstop. I always tell people that I think Spencer wants our lives to be a musical. HA! If he is ever in a grumpy mood, we sing. We sing about everything around here!

Dee Dee and kiddos

We had fun going to Houston for Mee Mee's 90th birthday. We love all of Matt's family and it was so nice to all be together!

Papa and Nana came down to spend 4th of July with us. The boys spent the night with them one night so I could unpack and get everything in order after being gone for so long. It was a huge help!

Happy 4th of July!

We don't have anything planned for this month and I am so excited about that! I am ready to get out of the house because we have been quarantined due to sickness, but anything I want to do is low key! I am making cow outfits for Chick-fil-A's cow appreciation day tomorrow. Pictures to come :)

What is Sophie like at 9 Months?

My little baby turned 9 months old last Thursday. I am ashamed that I did not update then, but I have 3 kids 2 and under... blogging is something that I do a little at a time just to get one post done. The past few weeks have just been so crazy! Well it took 9 months, but Sophie got her first brother caused injury yesterday. Shepherd was rolling around and accidently hit Soph in the eye. She cried most of the morning and it was so red and watery. LONG story short...took her to the dr and then finally to the eye doctor. She has a scratch on her cornea. She is much better today due to eye drops. It was a very hectic day! 

SOPHIE LYNN

17 pounds 11 ounces

-is a Mommy's girl

-still toothless..I love a toothless grin

-has gorgeous eyes 

-dark hair with a little rat tail in the back

-army crawls everywhere; loves to go into the bathroom while I am potty training her brothers!

-loves for you to hold your hands out so she can pull up; she still isn't pulling up on anything by herself (I know that will change any day)

-loves to watch Shep and Spence play

-favorite place to play is in her brother's room

Who me?

-favorite toy is any ball- I need to get some more girly toys ;)

-loves to play with any basket. Loves to dump all the toys out

-bounces to dance to any music

-always smiling and talking when she waked up; never cries for me to get her

-gets so excited when you walk in the room to get her out of bed

-not a huge fan of her bottle or baby food. She would MUCH rather eat table food so she can feed herself!

-has started drinking water from a sippy cup and loves it!

-loves her baths! Especially recently because her brothers get in for a few mins before she gets out!

-loves to copy her brothers and tries to scream when they do (it can get a little loud around here)

-loves her lovie and sucks on her bottom lip when she is tired

-does not like to be confined in her exersaucer or bed

-chews on everything!

-loves to be outside and go on walks

-is very watchful, not as talkative but probably because she can't get a word in (yet!)
-has started to get aggravated when her brothers take a toy. She even acts like she is going to bite them (with no teeth ha!) She really tries to hold her own!


I really was watching her in this video, and took her out of the room when it got too wild! :)

Sophie, you are my precious angel! I love how snuggly you are and that you are a momma's girl! I love watching you grow and seeing your sweet smile! I can't wait to watch all the new milestones you are going to achieve over the next few months. I am so blessed to have you as my daughter! I love you as high as the mountains and as deep as the sea!

So I can Sew Applique

I got a sewing/applique machine for my bday. My bday isn't till next week, but I got it early! Let me explain that my sewing ability is limited to sewing on a button...so I have lots to learn! I LOVE applique shirts for the boys and was so excited to learn. I decided to watch utube videos to try and teach myself how to applique. I thought that would be easier than learning how to sew something. I was right! I have been able to applique shirts for the boys and added names and "S" to Sophie's clothes. Here are 2 of the things I have done. I am hoping to take sewing classes at a nearby sewing store soon!

8 Months Old

Our Sweet Sophie is 8 months old today! She is such a joy! I can't believe my baby is 8 months old! She is a loud, drama filled girly girl who loves her brothers! Here is a quick update of our girl!

Sophie Lynn

-rolls and maneuvers anywhere she wants to go. Doesn't see a need to scoot because she can get anywhere!

-HATES to have diaper changed or clothes changed. She doesn't like to be confined and lets you know it!

-Does not gobble baby food or bottle..this is such a change to her brothers so we aren't sure what to think:) she is beginning to eat some table food and does enjoy that more! Likes to eat bananas, lima beans, and ANY bread!

-She would live off of eating puffs if I let her.

-Is a MAJOR mommy's girl! Does not like anyone out of close family to hold her. 

-Is shy- will lay her head on me when someone talks to her.

-Mama was her first word!! then bye bye--no Dada yet..Sorry Matt :)

-Can wave bye bye, play peekaboo, and patty cake

-When she is on her tummy- she dances and swims when she is excited!

-Is very happy when she wakes up and always has a big smile on her face when I go get her

-Loves her pink lovie. Puts it on her face and sucks on her tongue for comfort.

-Wants bath, bottle, and bed in that order starting at 7...no later! She lets you know it if you try and push it back! This makes it hard on Wednesday nights and if we try and hang out with friends. But we understand this is just a stage.

-Loves to watch tv! Loves Mickey Mouse! 

-Loves to play with Shepherd and Spencer! They adore her! They give her toys and love to make her laugh.

Easter Weekend

Our Easter week was a lot different than what I had planned for us. We were stuck inside and couldn't be around anyone due to the lovely hand, foot, and mouth virus. We were able to have lots of fun the end of the week and enjoyed the outside.

Saturday morning we took the kiddos to Chewacla State Park on their first hike. They all loved it. Matt and I loved to hike and camp before we had kids, and are thrilled to start it back up and experience it through our little ones' eyes.

After naps on Saturday, Matt hid some eggs in the backyard. The boys missed out on our Easter playdate and the city egg hunt. So we just had our own. They loved it!

It was a great weekend! I love spending time with my little family and making our own traditions! They are growing up so fast and learning so much. Shepherd and Spencer are talking our ears off and little Sophie is laughing and cooing more. These are the best times of our lives!
