Just like daddy

I read in my book Bringing Up Boys, how by the time children are 18 months old they see a difference between Mommy and Daddy and decide who they are like. I have really noticed that the past two weeks. The boys always copy me and what I do, but they really pay attention when Matt is home! I think it is so cute how they follow him and try and do the things he does! Shep and Spence have to be wherever Daddy is and likes to help him shut the doors and collect his shoes.

Here are a few sweet pictures of being like Daddy...

All last week we were sick. Everyone of us got a nasty cold and croup cough. We are still trying to get over the last effects of it all. Who knew you could get croup in the summer?? I am ready to be done with this mess, so we can play outside in the water! Even though they were sick, Shep and Spence are still happy smiley boys!

Found a new spot for a water break

They think it is so fun!!

Super deals!

I love garage sales! I love getting up early on Saturday morning to find items at a low price! I usually only go with my mom when I am in Birmingham. They always have a lot of garage sales to choose from. I am VERY picky about the area I go to. I want nice gently used items. I won't buy just anything! As soon as I get home, everything I bought gets a good dose of Clorox Anywhere Spray and a scrub down! Just two weeks ago, I bought a play kitchen for the boys for $10! They love it! I also got books, a white dresser, and a changing table for Sophie's room. I am going to paint the dresser and changing table to match the baby bed we bought. It was a very successful day!
This past Saturday I noticed there were a lot of signs around where we live, so I looked through the paper and made a plan. I left the house at 5:30 and bought a lego table w/ two chairs (10$), books, blankets and clothes for Sophie, baskets for toys, toy lawn mower, toy wheel barrow, and beach toys. I think my total spendings was around $35-40! I was so excited!
Now that the boys are older, we are needing older toys to keep them busy. With their birthday at Christmas time, there isn't another time where they will receive new toys. What a great way to stock our backyard than cheap finds!! We want our place to be fun for all their friends to come and play!
Ever since Jackson's birthday party, we have been looking for a cheap playhouse for the boys. They loved playing in Caroline and Jacksons! Matt finally found a good one off craigslist and drove and got it yesterday! Here is the boys first time playing in it!

Is it May almost June already?

I do not know where the time goes? I can not believe that my babies are 16 months old and I am almost in my 3rd trimester with Sophie. I know the next time I turn around she will be here!! We finally started doing SOMETHING for her room this past weekend. We bought a bed, changing table and a dresser. I wasn't going to buy another changing table, but I got it cheap at a garage sale and am going to paint it to match the bed. I am getting very excited. My nesting is beginning!

We have been so busy this past month. When I have had time to post, I am just so tired. I am actually more tired with this singleton pregnancy than with the twins, because I am running after two toddlers! I am hoping things will slow down over the next month, so we can get some things done around the house. The boys are changing so much every week. They are talking a lot more and are able to communicate with us about their needs and wants. Shep is even telling us before he goes to the bathroom. I don't even know what to do about that??? Does that mean he is ready to start using the potty..oh goodness...I don't think mommy is ready for that! I can't even list all the words they are saying...I know I would leave a lot out. Shep thinks it is his job to shut every door in the house. Any time you get out of the car, come in the house, leave a room, he says "Shut, Shut". He is very proud of his job and will not let you forget it! He loves to learn and loves practicing the flash cards I use with them. Shepherd loves his brother and likes to go around patting Spencer on the head while he says "Budda, Budda". Spencer takes it all in stride. We are having some issues with hitting and taking toys. But as soon as Shepherd does it he says "sworry" and hugs Spencer. I think he thinks that makes it ok!:)
I am waiting for the day that Spencer just lashes back at Shepherd. I know it will probably happen. Spencer is actually more of our independent one right now. They change so much! He likes to play by himself and is content to be in a room by himself. He loves to talk on the phone and say "Heeeyy". Spencer loves his papa and calls for him a lot during the day. He is all boy! He loves to play ball any kind...baseball, soccer, etc. He also loves to play in the dirt and eat it! I am hoping to get them a sand table soon, because I know how much they will love it! Spencer is becoming more vocal about what he wants. We have had some fits and telling us no. I know this is just the beginning of them trying to do the opposite of what we want! :) They are growing up!!
We have so much fun during the day...now that it is getting warmer here is how we are going to spend our days...

Hose pipe fun!!

They absolutely think it was the most fun! Now every time they go outside they run to it and want it turned on.

Shepherd loved spraying Spencer. Spencer thought it was so funny!

Shepherd contemplating doing it again...

Spencer says, YEA!

Shepherd backed up when I started spraying him. I love his face!!

This past weekend my baby brother graduated from high school! We are so proud of him and am so glad he will be going to Auburn this fall!
My sweet family

I am so proud of him!!

They love their uncle Justin!

I am not ready for this one day...
